We are happy to see you were able to get an extremely competitive (almost retail) price for your ring. We looked up the information on your ring and we offered more than what you wrote in your review. Our offer in August of 2023 was based on the weight and karat of the gold, carat size, cut, color, and clarity of the diamonds.
Online services may work for some items because a private buyer who buys from a private seller feels like they are getting a deal. This is a suggestion that we make for many of our customers who purchased from a jewelry store and are looking to get closer to their purchase price. In many instances, customers will end up bringing back their jewelry to sell to us because it will not sell online for what they wanted or may take months (as in your case) or even years to sell.
You were very fortunate that you were able to get such a competitive price for your ring since styles and trends change, and a lot of jewelry is out of style and since there is an influx of lab created diamonds on the market, the natural diamond market is very soft. Also, jewelry is marked up so much over the wholesale cost (300% on average) that most jewelry stores do not buy back the jewelry that they sell. Some jewelry stores will give their customer credit for the full value that they paid for their item; however, the consumer then must buy something for double of the credit for the original item.
The buyer who bought your ring probably felt they were getting a great deal because of the high retail markup of jewelry. We could not have bought your ring for $3000 because we cannot buy an item for more than what we can sell it for. We believe whoever bought your ring will also be surprised with what they would get for it if they ever tried to sell it.
In addition, your main center diamond was certified by a substandard (EGL) grading company. Some jewelry stores prefer to use these companies that over grade the diamonds for the simple reason that they are graded better than what they really are and the consumer when comparing a same diamond to a GIA certified diamond feels like they are getting a better deal.

Per our store guidelines, we help our customers in the order they come in the door. You walked into our establishment and both desks we use to transact business were occupied by customers. You blurted out that you have a question. We asked you to take a seat in our waiting area, and explained to you that someone would come to you to answer your question. We did not know if your question was easy to answer or a little more complex. Out of respect for the clients that we were working with, we were not going to interrupt our transaction with them to answer your question. I’m not sure why you would think that people sit around at their jobs. As business owners that have no employees, we do not, as your statement said, spend time at work, “not doing anything”. She (the lady) stopped what she was working on and walked over to you to answer your question. You asked if we repaired jewelry, which is strange because we do not state anywhere that we repair jewelry. She was attempting to recommend a place for you to go, and tips on how to get the best deal when getting your jewelry repaired. However, you didn’t want to hear her suggestions and walked out of the door. We looked at our security camaras and you waited for 15 seconds before she came up to you. You were literally in our store for less than 1 minute, 58 seconds to be exact.
We take our reviews very seriously to help us improve our customer service. We will continue to provide excellent customer service to our customers in the order they arrive.

I would have to disagree with your review. I took my time looking through all your different coins and made you a competitive offer, which you decided to decline. I believe you thought you were going to sell the coins for much more and unfortunately your perceived value may have been more than the actual value. Furthermore, in no way was I rude to you. I was upfront and truthful.
